Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said that Abu Murra, the mawla of Aqil ibn Abi Talib asked Abu Hurayra about a sheep which was slaughtered and then part of it moved. He ordered him to eat it. Then he asked Zayd ibn Thabit about it, and he said, "Does a corpse move?" and he forbade eating its meat. Malik was asked about a sheep which fell down and injured itself badly and then its master reached it and slaughtered it. Blood flowed from it but it did not move. Malik said, "If he kills it and blood flows from it and its eyes blink, he should eat it

Sayyid ibn al-Musaib, he hated to be killed by a woman, as the hunt is killed by the arrow and the like. Malik said and I see no harm in what happened to the victim if he was beaten and reported the fighter to be eaten, said the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and told him what had been said in the hands of those who had seen him and what they had seen in their own hands. {And he said to them, "Do not be afraid of what you see in your own hands, and do not fear what you will see in their hands.}

He told me about a king who he heard scientists say that if a man was wounded by a dog and saved him with water or an untrained dog, he didn't eat that animal unless it was stabbed by the shooter's coat, killed it or shot by an unschooled one, because no one could find it in your hand, and you couldn't find anything else to make it heal from that damage because you didn' t know what it was you wanted.

He told me about Malik, his son, that Malik had been trained to hunt, and that he had been taught to hunt and that all he had to do was to keep his promise to God.

He told me of a certain Malik, who he heard some scholars say in Basri and Akha and Sagara and the like, that if he felt like the dogs he had studied, there was no use in eating what was slaughtered since he was dead, and if he did not want it, he would be burned and all in his hands, and what he wanted would not be taken away hidden in his pocket. "The king had a royal decree which we proclaimed that if the messenger sent the dog of the wise man, who was a bad man, to catch or kill it, if he had been taught it, I would eat the same animal, thinking that if I had not done so, it would have been treated as if God had not foretold something good in the spirit of the prophet.

And John told me of Malik, of Nafa'ah, that the servant of the Beneficent, the son of Abi Hurayrah, asked the servant, the Son of Omar, why the sea had made him afraid to eat it. Nafa said, "The servant of Allah turned and called the mosque, and said, 'The people of the city have been destroyed, and no one has ever been saved by the hand of Allah.'"
