Matters are judged by their intentions
Every deed, act of worship and contract is judged by the doer's intention (niyyah). If the intention is good and for Allah, it is rewarded.
Certainty is not overruled by doubt
Something that has been clearly established is not cancelled by mere uncertain doubt. Certainty is taken as the basis.
Hardship brings ease
When a believer faces severe hardship or an unbearable obstacle, Islamic law grants a concession (rukhsah) to lighten the burden.
Harm must be removed
Any act or condition that causes harm, damage or pain to life, property, health or society must be prevented and removed.
Custom is a basis for judgement
A community's customs, traditions and ways of life that do not contradict the Quran and Sunnah can serve as a basis for rulings and contracts.
